The fourteen day State Handloom Expo July 1-14 at DK Convention center, IG Park is pulling a huge crowd

ITANAGAR, JULY 8 ; The fourteen days state handloom expo underway at DK Convention center here at IG Park is pulling a huge crowd of capital dweller of handloom, handicraft and local products lovers.

Handloom. Handicraft Development Society (APHHDS) under National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP), Sponsored by Development
Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, all total 45 artesian from various parts of state are taken part with their local and handmade products which are like by the capital dwellers

The expo was inaugurated by the Dumporijo MLA Rode Bui on July 1st in presence of secretary Textile and Handicraft .
Swapnil M Nalk,, Asstiant director (Weaving) UC Baro and representative of NHDC and others.

State senior journalist Nani Kojin who visited the expo on Friday motivated the weavers and local artisans to work hard and motivated younger generation so that the art and design remain for ever in further also. 

He appreciated the quality of products
on display by respective participant from various parts of state and also lauded for their participating which will motivated slogan of vocal for local. Kojin said.

He also interacted the individual
weavers/artisans/SHG/NGO/Cooperative societies and sk them to continue to work for promotion of local and handmade products which will create employment avenue as well as profit for economic sustainability after marketing of the products in various parts of state and others parts of region and country which will also add to the exposure of our traditional handloom and handicraft and local products. Kojin said.

He observed that a permanent place for such exhibition and expo for local artesian need to be created so that various groups and SHGs and NGOs continue to take part in the expo round the year. He said.
