Itanagar,: The Niti Vihar Police have recovered a stolen Yamaha Ray ZR Scooty and arrested the notorious theft accused, Hiba Kakum @ Garam, in connection with the case.
The scooty, bearing registration number AR02A-5125, was stolen from the vicinity of Bungalow No-14, Upper Niti Vihar, on July 31, 2024. The case was registered at Niti Vihar Police Station, and a team led by Kengo Dirchi, SDPO, Itanagar, and Takhe Tasso, Officer-in-Charge, PS Niti Vihar, worked tirelessly to crack the case.
Through meticulous investigation and human intelligence, the team identified and apprehended Yamra Agung, 19, who confessed to the crime and revealed the involvement of Hiba Kakum @ Garam, 21. Further inquiries revealed that Kakum @ Garam was absconding and had been involved in multiple theft cases. He was recently arrested on August 17, 2024, and the stolen scooty and a Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 motorcycle were recovered.
The Itanagar Police have demonstrated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and will continue their efforts to combat theft and other criminal activities in the region.
