New Administrative Circle Lab-le Announced in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri District

Chief Minister Pema Khandu officially declared the establishment of a new administrative circle named Lab-le, carved out of the existing Payeng circle in the Upper Subansiri district. The announcement, made during a public meeting at Kublong village under Taliha Assembly Constituency, addressed longstanding concerns about the slow pace of infrastructural development in the Payeng administrative circle, formed in 1999.

Chief Minister Khandu, acknowledging the historical significance of Payeng as one of the oldest administrative circles, expressed regret over its underdevelopment. He attributed the lag to a potential lack of proper planning and political will, assuring the public of transformative changes. Responding to Tara Payeng, the first Tagin MLA instrumental in establishing the circle headquarters, Khandu pledged that the veteran would witness the region’s substantial transformation in the coming years.

Emphasizing the commitment to both Payeng and the newly announced Lab-le, Khandu promised essential infrastructure and manpower. He underscored the positive impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach to the North East, contrasting it with the previous central government’s lackadaisical attitude.

As Arunachal Pradesh gears up for upcoming assembly elections, Khandu sought support from the public, unveiling a developmental blueprint post-elections. He assured phased resolution of genuine demands submitted by locals and inaugurated several projects, including infrastructure for Taliha Government Secondary School, a stadium at Taliha, and various road and water supply projects across the region. The Chief Minister’s proactive stance aims to maintain an accelerated pace of development in the state.
