Election Commission sets April 16 as provisional poll day in 2024 Lok Sabha election planner

Nipjyoti Kalita || Itanagar, Jan 23: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially released the detailed Election Planner for the upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha in 2024. This comprehensive guide outlines a series of meticulously planned activities, complete with specific timelines and durations for each step.

The provisional Poll Day is marked for 16.04.2024, acting as a pivotal reference point for organizers to calculate start and end dates for each task.

A feature of the Election Planner is its integrated portal, which ensures timely communication by sending notifications to CEO Delhi through SMS and email at the initiation and conclusion of every activity. To guarantee a transparent and efficient electoral process, the status of each task must be regularly updated—categorized as Pending, In Progress, Scheduled, or Completed—based on reports from District Electoral Officers (DEOs), Returning Officers (ROs), and relevant branches at CEO (HQ).

In a directive from T. Misao, the Assistant Chief Electoral Officer (COE), stakeholders are strongly urged to strictly adhere to the specified timelines for the commencement and completion of each election-related activity. Additionally, all involved parties are required to submit detailed reports on election activities to the COE Branch at the office of CEO, Delhi.

These reports should be submitted at least one day before the scheduled start and end dates of the respective activities, contributing to a transparent and accountable electoral process.
