Arunachal Pradesh Trade union raise concern on appointment of Chairman from other background

ITANAGAR, Nov 7: Arunachal Pradesh Trade Union served 14 days ultimatum to the state government for recall/removal of Rolen (Tajay) Dagam who has been appointed as chairmen of the Arunachal Pradesh Building and other Construction workers Welfare Board ( APB&OCWWB) recently.

Addressing media persons here today at Arunachal Press club APTUF chairman Changma Tajo said that since from many days we the APTUF are demanding that state government to appoint APB&OCWWB chairmen from the experience and senior members of APTUF because they have knowledge about the actual problems of workers of the state. And union leader will be works for the welfare of worker and will be maintain Boards fund. In this regards we have many time submitted our representation to state government.

But the state government did not listen to our appeal and recently they appointed one Rolen (Tajay) Dagam as chairman of APB&OCWWB, so we strongly opposed the decisions of state government and demanded for recall of his appointment.

He also claimed that Rolen (Tajay) Dagam was a teacher and how could a teacher can focused on the state of affairs and the welfare activities of the APB&OCWWB, he added.

There was crores of Boards funds which is being meant for the welfare of labourers and were misused when elected leaders became chairman of  APB&OCWWB. And this matter many time we have reported to state government but no any response from government.

We were very concerned about further misuse of Boards funds so we had demanded the state government to appoint chairmen to an experience and senior most union members and those who are attach with labours and know about the actual problems of labours.

When elected leaders are appointed as chairman we the labour cannot get the chance to meet our chairmen to share the problems of labours, he added.

Further he warned the state government if they fail to respond on time on their demand we will start democratic movement against the state government.
