Itanagar, July 6: To regulate one side parking at Abotani Colony as per the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom on 4th July last directing to facilitate parking of LMVs/ Two/Three wheelers only on the left side from the entry point of Abotani Colony(opposite ANSU Office) to the bridge point ( near Waii Apartment) leading towards Mowb II, the DC carried out inspection of Abotani Colony today accompanied by the Executive Engineer Er Tarh Gungkap, AE Er Tadu Taka and his team of Officers, President Dado Tajuk and members of AIMWA, Colony Welfare Association and other residents of the colony.

During the visit, the DC inspected the entire stretch of sector road of the Colony and requested the shopkeepers and the residents to abide by the order of one side parking.

He asked them to cooperate with the Administration by abiding with the order and by passing on the information to others.

Also taking stock of the drains, it was observed that the water flowing in the drains from the road leading from Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly Itanagar gets accumulated near the trijunction which eventually overflows into Abotani Colony road especially during heavy rainfall.

To avoid the same, the DC has directed all the Managers of the banks along the trijunction to replace/ remove the RCC slabs by placing cattle traps or to initiate any other measure which would be necessary for stopping the overflow of water into the sector roads.

The DC has also directed the EE PWD CD-A to provide the list of all the encroachers who have erected structures/buildings on the drains leading  to obstruction of the flow of water through the drains at Abotani Colony to his office within 7 days for necessary action.

The DC also informed that necessary directions would also be passed to Highway Authorities for regular cleaning and maintenance of drains along the Highways.
