ITANAGAR, MAY 01 : The Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) in its Executive Committee meeting held under the newly elected President Taba Tedir, Minister and Secretary General Bamang Tago here at Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre (DKCC) today which discussed various issue pertaining to promotion of games and sports in state.
Addressing the executive members and invitees of various organisations, Tedir said that we have to work out several modalities and provisions pertaining to progress and development of games and sports in the state. He said.
We are working out an advisory plan which would be sent to the state government, Sports and Youth affairs Ministry and Indian Olympic Association for support and guidance and consideration and support. He said.
Discussions were held on Olympic games games including state/central sports control board, several sports association has sought for provisional affiliation with AOA has constituted commission for selection and support to various organisations. He said.
Secretary General AOA Bamang Tago stated that sport has no longer remain just sports but Sports has emerged as industries globally and appeal to the youth of the state to opt sports as professional. The meeting also seriously viewed the non performance of many state sports associations and later constituted a committee to examine and recommend for appropriate decisions of the President AOA.
Later, the meeting constituted various Commissions and Committees for redressal & examination of underlying concerns issues for systematic growth of the sports in the state.
Recognising the contribution towards the development of sports in the state, Likha Tara and Padi Richo have been unanimously appointed by the house as the “Life Time President” and “Chief Advisor” of Arunachal Olympic Association without voting right.
