ITANAGAR, Dec 21: A devastating fire turned two government quarters of the Health department and two other kutcha houses into ashes in the Bomdila market area today in which one government employee was injured.
Sharing the information about the fire incident, the West Kameng Superintendent of Police stated: “At around 8:50 pm today, information was received that a fire had broken out in a quarter in the Bomdila market area near the Sahara tyre shop.”
The West Kameng district police chief informed that two fire tenders from Bomdila were immediately rushed to the spot.
“The location of the fire was in the middle of the mountain slope due to which it was difficult for the fire personnel to reach the exact point. By about 11 pm, the fire was completely doused with a lot of help from the public,” the SP said.
“In preliminary assessment, it was found that 2 government quarters of the health department, 2 kutcha houses were gutted. One person, namely Sangchun Rijiju, employed as a peon at the DC Office, received injuries and is being treated at Bomdila hospital,” the SP said.“Further assessment is being done by the district administration,” the district police chief said.
