AKDDSU suspended democratic movement after assurance by APSSB

ITANAGAR, Apr 28: The All Kra Daadi District Students Union (AKDDSU) has suspended the proposed its 2nd of 24 and 3rd phase of 48 hours district bandh call on May 20 and 31 respectively, following an assurance by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) to advertise 18 Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) post under different departments before May 20.

AKDDSU president Pakyum Talop told the reporters that the board has advertised the 14 LDC posts after the first phase of a 12 hours district shutdown on May 10. Accordingly, the board has also assured to advertise the 18 MTS before May 20.

He said that the 9 UDC posts will also be advertised very soon by the board but the deadline is not provided yet.

“The suspension of the band call came during an executive meeting of the union. Added, the extension of two week full containment order (lockdown) due to surge of Covid 19 infection  in the ICR is also another reason for the suspension,” he said.

When questioned on the other two demands of the union for establishment of a fire station and allocation of funds for the construction of a multipurpose educational counseling centre, Talop said due to the lockdown in ICR, the proposed meeting with the authority concerned has been put on hold.

He said that after the lockdown, the union along with the executive members will soon meet the concerned authority to discuss their demands and further course of action.

“If the APSSB fails to advertise the remaining post within the lockdown period, the union will continue the movement in a stronger approach,” he said, appealing the state government to fulfill their other two demands.
