ITANAGAR, APRIL 27 : The activist Sol Dodum who is on democratic movement and sit on dharna since April 18 at the Tennis court campus in IG Park has reached 9 days. But from Tuesday Dodum has declared to continue the movement with a hunger strike.
The Activist Sol Dodum before starting his sit on dharna in Itanagar has made a remarkable footmark from Seppa to Itanagar Via Pakkekessang and Saglaee covering around 225 Kilometer to press the state government to resolved the charter of demand for providing potable drinking water supply to people of Seppa township in East Kameng.
So far two rounds of discussion has been made with the team of Activist Sol Dodum with Home & Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bamang Felix on Saturday and Monday last at the office chamber at APLA. The Home Minister has stated to the media of the step taken by the PHED Department and state government for providing safe and potable drinking water supply in Seppa with three schemes with a timeline of one month, three months and six month respectively.
During the time, a high level team led by Sport, Youth Affairs & WRD Minister Mama Natung and other legislature of district with secretary PHED, CE and other officers visited Seppa and inspected the upcoming water supply project and interacted with the locals.
The Activist Sol Dodum is on hunger strike from Tuesday and may continue to sit on dharna until the charter of demand is fulfilled by state government which include transfer of DC and PHED EE Seppa, constitute of SIT to investigate the case registered at Seppa PS against attack on him, departmental action against PHED EE, registration of case at SIC on corruption on WTP, magisterial enquiry into the recent road repairing etc.
An official information received from the PHED department minister cell, a letter issued in this regard said that “ in view of the ongoing water supply issue of Seppa township the Minister PHED & Water Supply etc Wangki Lowang will address the media. The media fraternity has been requested to attend the media briefing at the conference hall of the finance department, Block NO-2, 3rd floor of AP Civil Secretariat, Itanagar and the minister concerned is likely to update on the action taken by the PHED department so far.
