CRPF Joins Hands with Naharlagun’s National Public School for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on Gandhi Jayanti

Itanagar, Oct 02: On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the 138th Battalion’s D Company of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Itanagar came together with the students of National Public School in Naharlagun and the surrounding areas to launch a significant cleanliness campaign. This initiative, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a cleaner and more developed nation, aimed to raise awareness about cleanliness and hygiene within the community.

Under the guidance of Rajendar Kumar, Commandant of the 138th Battalion CRPF, D Company CRPF conducted a thorough cleanliness drive not only within the premises of National Public School Naharlagun but also in the nearby Naharlagun Bandar Deva Road area. The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from schoolchildren, staff, and the local population.

CRPF Company Commander Inspector Vikrant Singh, speaking at the event, emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi had dreamt of a clean and prosperous nation, and it now falls upon all citizens to fulfill that vision in the post-independence era. He stressed the need for a change in mindset and a renewed focus on cleanliness, putting aside personal interests. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) was highlighted as a crucial endeavor, capable of preventing diseases caused by uncleanliness and fostering a healthier societal outlook.

Principal Pramod Kumar of National Public School expressed that cleanliness and hygiene were responsibilities shared by all members of society. He pledged to continue such campaigns in the future to fulfill this collective duty.

During the event, officers, including CRPF Commanding Officer Inspector Vikrant Singh, distributed sweets to the children. The school staff also organized a refreshing session for the CRPF personnel in recognition of their participation in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
