Arunachal’s head constable dies of heatstroke while on Election Duty in Bihar

Naharlagun, May 29: A head constable of the 1st Arunachal Pradesh Battalion (AAPBn), Nikhu Dajusow, tragically passed away today in Bihar’s Arwal district. Dajusow was on election duty in the region.

The incident occurred while Dajusow was on patrol with a colleague amidst extremely hot weather, with temperatures soaring to 46°C. He began to feel unwell and was immediately taken for urgent medical treatment. Despite continuous efforts by medical professionals, he succumbed to his condition in the evening between 6-7 PM.

Commandant SK Thongdok confirmed the incident and expressed his condolences to Dajusow’s family. Thongdok highlighted that under his leadership, five companies of AAPBn are currently deployed in Bihar for election duty.

Discussions are underway with higher authorities to facilitate the return of Dajusow’s body to Arunachal Pradesh. Once clearance is obtained from high command, the body will be sent to his hometown, Thongdok informed.

Additionally, ten other AAPBn companies are currently engaged in election duty across Telangana, Haryana, and Punjab.
